I have been the proud owner of this violin since the beginning of the 1980’s. It was made by Karl Myrén who had his workshop in Östersund; it’s his Opus 142 from 1951. The previous owner was Ola Jonasson, Åmotsfors, one of my teachers and a good friend. Ola’s grandfather was the legendary fiddler Erik Larsson from Ansätten. I’m very happy that I have the privilege to be one of the players of this violin on its journey through time.
When I return from work, it’s hanging there on the wall waiting; I love to, just for a moment, play a few tunes to relax and clear my head from the stress of everyday. Often it’s a Polska sounding ...throb, throb ...throb, throb...like the rhythm of the heart.
